A plane crashed on Thursday morning in Redding, California, shortly after taking off from Benton Airpark.  The plane, a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza, had four passengers on board.  It has been reported that two passengers were killed in the crash, with the two others being taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.  The Redding police have identified one of the deceased passengers as local resident Mike Garrett.

The crash occurs just two years after another crash near the airport on August 29, 2018, when a Cessna 150 crashed in a canyon just north of the airport, killing the pilot and his dog.
