Spagnoletti Law Firm recently filed suit on behalf of an oilfield worker who was severely injured during the course of his work. The worker was injured at the Jambers fieldpad in Eagle Ford Shale. As he performed his work, the Plaintiff attempted to latch the door on a blowout preventer at a land based oil rig. Due to defective hydraulics on the blowout preventer, the door slammed shut on his fingers. The Plaintiff lost multiple fingers, and has undergone substantial medical treatment which remains ongoing. (C) Failing to provide proper equipment to perform the job;
(D) Failing to oversee the operations and work being performed;
(E) Failing to warn Plaintiff regarding the defective blowout preventer;
(F) Failure to take any means or precautions for the safety of the workers present, including plaintiff;
(G) Failure to provide adequate personnel for the job in question; and
(H) Failing to inspect, maintain, and/or repair the defective blowout preventer.
