A small plane crashed on January 2, 2021, in Lyon Township, Michigan. The plane, a Piper PA-24 crashed in a residential neighborhood close to the Oakland/Southwest Airport. There were three individuals on board at the time of the crash. The three individuals were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. It is unknown at this time what led to the deadly accident.
