Bulk Carrier HABCO PIONEER Collides with Fishing Vessel – 17 Missing

There was a collision between the bulk carrier HABCO PIONEER and a fishing vessel on April 3, 2021.  At the time, the vessels were northeast of Jakarta.  After the collision, the fishing vessel capsized.  Fifteen fishermen were rescued, but seventeen remain missing.  Search and rescue operations remain ongoing.

A pilot fell while attempting to disembark from the bulk carrier MARIA GS on March 14, 2021.  The Russian fishing trawler MELKART capsized on March 24, 2021.  A fire broke out on the general cargo ship BBC RHONETAL on March 25, 2021.  The cargo ship BERGFJORD struck a fishing vessel on March 25, 2021.  The fish carrier FENG HAI 78 struck the cargo ship FENG YAN 68 on March 27, 2021.  The container ship MSC TINA struck a pier while in port on March 27, 2021.  There was an incident involving the gantry crane on the container ship EVER GENTLE on March 27, 2021.
