There was a small plane crash in Montrose, Colorado on January 2, 2022. The plane, a 2010 Zenith CH 750, suffered a mechanical problem before crashing on the Uncompahgre Plateau. Luckily, another pilot was able to locate the plane and provide coordinates to local law enforcement. After contact from search and rescue, the pilot was able to walk out using snow shoes. It is unclear what the mechanical problem the plane suffered is at this time.
