Recreational Boat Capsizes in North Stonington, Connecticut

There was a deadly recreational boating accident in North Stonington, Connecticut on April 15, 2022.  A vessel with two adults and two children capsized on Wyassup Lake.  The four passengers were thrown into a water as a result.  They were rescued and transported to Westerly Hospital for treatment.  One of the children was pronounced dead at the hospital.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to those impacted by this tragic incident.

There have been a number of recent incidents involving vessels.  There was a vessel collision between the Dominic S and the Marilyn M in the early morning of February 23, 2022.  There was an explosion and fire on the product tanker ship SMOOTH SEA 2 on March 9, 2022.  The ro-ro ship AL SALMY 6 capsized in the Persian Gulf on March 17, 2022.  The container ship SC PHOENIX caught fire on March 25, 2022 while in the Mediterranean Sea.  The cargo ferry SAN GUILLERMO caught fire on March 26, 2022 while in the Gulf of California.  A pontoon boat exploded in LaGrange, Wisconsin on April 1, 2022.
