Fire at Marathon Petroleum’s Garyville, Louisiana Refinery

There was a fire at the Marathon refinery in Garyville, Louisiana on October 5, 2022.  According to reports, a fire broke out at the refinery on Wednesday morning.  Two people were injured in the fire and required medical treatment.  Additional details have not yet been released.

This is not the only recent incident at the Garyville refinery.  On February 21, 2021, six contractors were burned in an explosion at the refinery.

There have been a number of incidents at industrial and manufacturing plants.  A worker was electrocuted at the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Keene, New Hampshire on August 24, 2022.  There was an explosion on a natural gas pipeline in Lake Lery, Louisiana on September 8, 2022.  Two workers were killed in a fire at the BP Husky Toledo Refinery in Oregon, Ohio on September 20, 2022.  There was an explosion at the Kaiser Aluminum Plant in Sherman, Texas on September 24, 2022.  There was an incident at an asphalt plant in Saukville, Wisconsin on September 27, 2022.
