Tragically, there have been a number of recent deaths on construction projects.  A worker was killed when a bucket detached from a backhoe and fell onto him in Omaha, Nebraska on November 30, 2022.  A crane toppled over in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on December 5, 2022.  A worker was hit and killed by a vehicle in Oakton, Virginia on December 8, 2022.  There was a deadly explosion at K-Bar Services in San Antonio, Texas late on December 9, 2022.  There was a deadly trench collapse in Jonesboro, Arkansas on December 12, 2022.

Despite being a vital part of the economy, construction projects often pose severe hazards both to construction workers and to the general public if precautions are not taken.  Each construction project poses its own unique risks and hazards based on the work being done.  Risks that may present themselves during a project must be carefully evaluated before the job begins.
