There have been a number of recent trucking accidents in Texas and Louisiana, resulting in severe injuries and sometimes death.  There was a deadly 18-wheeler gravel carrier accident in San Antonio, Texas on April 13, 2022.  An SUV was crushed between two 18-wheelers on Interstate 10 in Houston, Texas on April 18, 2022.  There was a deadly trucking accident in Andrews County, Texas on April 20, 2022.

Safe trucking companies must take adequate precautions to ensure that their drivers do not severely injure or kill members of the public in a trucking accident.  Industry standards require trucking companies to regularly inspect their equipment, including their tires.  Safe companies must also supervise their driver to ensure that the company’s policies and procedures have been followed.  A truck driver must assess the conditions of the roadway while driving, and only drive at an appropriate speed.  Failing to do so can result in a loss of control, and jeopardize the lives of other drivers.
