There was an explosion at the Haven Midstream Gas Plant on April 14, 2022. The facility is a processing plant, which separates natural gas into different components, before they are transferred via pipelines. Nearby highways were closed to allow firefighters to transport firefighting material to the facility. As a result of concerns to residents, an evacuation was initially ordered for those within a two mile radius of the plant. According to reports, the explosion was severe enough that it shook nearby residences. Two workers were transported to a local medical facility to receive treatment for injuries. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
